The Mind Connections Foundation was founded in August 2020 to improve the community’s mental health and well-being through awareness programmes and research. In keeping with our mission, the MCF will actively promote mental health through research activities in the MD curriculum at Western Sydney University (WSU).
The Foundation overseas Medical students in 4th and 5th year MD program, Faculty of Medicine, conduct researches at the Mind Connections Specialists Health Services. Service evaluation and research findings inform a better service delivery, which means common good for the people who benefit from such service delivery.
The Foundation’s operations are made possible by the generous donations of our supporters and benefactors. In addition, mind Connections Specialist Health Services supports some operating costs, such as an annual mental health award for WSU medical students, administrative support and office facilities.
The Foundation is currently working to broaden the scope of activities it supports. Please contact us if you are interested in developing new collaborations, projects or funding programmes.
Mind Connections Foundation is registered with Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) as a charity and registered for Deductible Gift Recipients (DGR) status. Gifts and donations over $2 dollars are an allowable income tax deduction in Australia. Receipts will be provided for all donations made.
We are looking for genuine organisations and donors to collaborate with Mind Connections Foundation to accomplish its mission.
It is also a day when family and friends, caregivers, people from all walks of life, service providers, government and non-government organisations and our beloved dogs come together to help those who have a mental illness. On the day, health care providers and organisations have stalls offering assistance, information, and guidance. There will even be stalls and events for the entertainment and well-being of your dogs too.
The family setting and pet connection provide a calm, non-stigmatizing environment where we may openly discuss mental health concerns.

Western Sydney University (WSU) MD degree medical students Community Research program
Fourth-year medical students from WSU work on research projects to better understand mental health concerns in a local setting, emphasising demographics and age groups. Ultimately, this will allow for a better understanding of care constraints and the development of effective primary and secondary preventative measures.
MCF’s annual mental health award for the 2nd-year medical student at WSU
This annual award is presented to second-year medical students to emphasise the significance of mental health and welfare among medical students.
Every year, we hear of young doctors who take their own lives. The responsibilities of clinical practice, post-graduate study and training must be balanced with life outside of medicine. The award encourages medical students to evaluate their own mental health issues critically but in an insightful manner.
We established this annual award to raise awareness, encourage medical students to take control of their lives, seek help and care for their colleagues.

The Mind Connections Foundation is keen to extend its research funding programme and deliver them regularly. Therefore, we are searching for suitable partners and donations.
